About Young Global Changers 2020:

Apply for the Young Global Changers 2020- Fully Funded Summer School in Germany! The Global Solutions Summit brings the next generation of problem solvers from around the globe to Berlin to contribute their views and ideas.

History of the Program:

Young people are dedicated to, passionate about and essential for shaping a better future. That is why in 2017 the Global Solutions Initiative launched the Young Global Changers (YGC) program to attract students and young professionals passionate about changing the world for the better. Each year they’re summoning their knowledge and skills to innovate and implement new solutions that can meet today’s challenges and the challenges of the future. YGC strives for diversity – in its first year it welcomed 100 participants from 100 different countries. In the future, YGC will become a permanent worldwide network as part of the Global Solutions Initiative (GSI). The Young Global Changers program brings together young people from around the world, who are working towards a global paradigm shift, combining their talents and together becoming a strong voice for change. Successful applicants will receive a full scholarship to participate in the Global Solutions Fully Funded Summer School and the Global Solutions Summit from April 17-22, 2020 in Berlin, Germany.

Who are The Young Global Changers?

The Young Global Changers are individuals with innovative ideas on how to make this world a better place. They must have developed a project or an initiative to turn these ideas into action.

This project can be a

  • research project,
  • social project,
  • global advocacy campaign or
  • local neighborhood initiative,
  • business idea,
  • social enterprise, and more.

Furthermore, the project needs to be connected to a current global challenge and must aim to make an impact at the global, regional or local levels.

About The Global Solutions Initiative (GSI)

The Global Solutions Initiative (GSI) is a globally collaborative enterprise to propose policy responses to major global problems, addressed by the G20, the G7, and other global governance fora. The policy recommendations and strategic visions are generated through a disciplined research program by leading research organizations, elaborated in policy dialogues between researchers, policymakers, business leaders and civil society representatives.

Scholarship’s offerings:

  • Full scholarships for qualified candidates to participate in the Young Global Changers program 2020.
  • The YGC scholarship includes the following:
    -Travel expenses to and from Berlin
    -Accommodation for the time of the summer school & Summit (April 17 -22, 2020)
    -Free admission to the Global Solutions Summit 2020
    -Lectures with global thought-leaders from academia and beyond
    -Comprehensive summer school workshops
    -Networking opportunities with great minds from academia, business, politics & civil society
    -Access to an exclusive global network of like-minded Young Global Changers
    -Possibilities for further engagement

Eligibility:

  • Young researchers and academics involved in a research project that tackles issues related to the re-coupling of economy, society and environmental sustainability
  • Young entrepreneurs and innovators involved in a social enterprise aimed at re-coupling, and young business leaders aiming at changing “business as usual” from the inside
  • Young non-profit leaders, active as community organizers, advocacy leaders, campaigners, or implementing social, economic or environmental change on a local, regional or global level and are
    -between the ages of 21 and 35,
    -want to become longstanding, active members of a strong global network which aims at bringing about lasting global change,
    -commit to working constantly towards re-coupling the economy with social well-being in a sustainable way,
    -want to become regular contributors to the Global Solutions Summit and other events and activities of the Global Solutions Initiative.
